  • Dissolvere means a solid has become part of the liquid.
  • Evaporando means a liquid becoming a gas e.g. when water boils.
  • Condensazione is when gas become liquid on a cold surface e.g. when you breathe on a cold window the water vapour in your breath appears as liquid.
  • Di fusione is when a solid becomes a liquid and is caused by a rise in temperature. Some materials e.g. metals, have higher melting points than others. The opposite of melting is congelamento or solidifying.
